Contra-AI Research

 

Is there, or should there be, a significant social movement against artificial intelligence?

  

Beginning February 17, 2019, this personal research wiki will be used to assemble and share with interested public, information and ideas that will be the basis of a chapter of a book tentatively titled Subcultures of the Information Age.  Within in computer science and industry, there is the equivalent of a social movement promoting AI.  Critiques of this push exist in great depth and variety, but not apparently organized into an anti-AI movement.  This metaphoric image was posed in Star Wars: The Old Republic, showing a human battling an enemy robot with the help of a friendly robot.  What is wrong with this picture?
