Come One, Come All!
Members of the Science Guild, the Cosmic Engineers, and Alea Iacta Est are invited to celebrate at noon, server time, Saturday, June 14, 2008, in the Court of the Sun in Silvermoon City.
Three main pieces of business are:
1. Celebrate the success of the May 9-11 scientific conference and the transition of the Science guild into an enduring organization for scientific and recreational communication.
2. Thank the Alea Iacta Est guild for the splendid help it provided, supplying many bags and other things for the conference, and even sending some heavyweights to help in the attack on Sentinel Hill.
3. Welcome and introduce the Order of Cosmic Engineers, an international transworld movement that has already established groups in both WoW and Second Life.
Things to See in Silvermoon:
1. At various places you will see brooms sweeping, without anybody holding them. This is a reference to the Sorcerer's Apprentice, perhaps in its most familiar form in the movie Fantasia. For the traditional background see THIS..
2. At various other places you find levitating lanterns and flowerpots, presumably a metaphor for the futility of advanced technology applied to frivolous purposes. If you can levitate, why not fly to the stars?
3. Every respectable Blood Elf home has one or more water pipes - hookahs - apparently indicating they smoke drugs.
4. An interesting machine is at 76,41, but what does it do? At one end is an abandoned goblin shredder, of the kind that clear-cuts forests in Stonetalon, and at the other end is a huge bomb.
5. In the paladin training area in Farstriders' Square, jump into the hole at 92,37. What is happening here?
6. At 76,81 there are four ragged people on the ground, and several apparently important people above them on a balcony. What is this? One of the orphan quests brings members of the Horde here from all over the world, because the orphan claims to want to see the people on the balcony, but actually the child wants to meet the people on the ground, who are a popular music band.
7. Interview the harrassed citizen at 71,84, to see how the government is mistreating her.
8. In the bazaar, at 57,78, witness two radicals lecture the crowd, then get brainwashed.
9. In Kellen's Trustworthy Tailoring, go in the back and down the ramp to find a sweatshop. Yes, wait long enough, and you will see her whip them!
10. At 78,59, enter the tavern on Murder Row with the sleeping drunk at the door, go upstairs, and ask the Blood Knight Adept what's up.
11. At 78,49, observe the martial art training.
12. Trayanise can be found in Silvermoon City around 61,37 chasing the Tiny Arcane Construct.
After the meeting:
How about we mass at the north end of the Scar, right outside Silvermoon City, and drive south destroying every member of the Scourge until we have cleaned out Deatholm?
